Galal wants world title shot in country where he won Olympic gold

GALAL YAFAI would happily head back to Japan to win a world title in the country where he claimed Olympic gold.

The British flyweight put on a stellar show as he stopped rival Sunny Edwards in the sixth round of their eagerlyanticipated clash in Birmingham on Saturday night.

Yafai, 31, was on top from the off as he slammed in superb lefts from his southpaw stance with right uppercuts also doing damage to the former IBF champion.

The victory earned him the 'interim' WBC crown a trinket but the real title is held by Japanese star Kenshiro Teraji.

It was in Tokyo where Yafai claimed Olympic gold in 2021 - at the delayed 2020 Games far right) and he would have no issues returning to a happy hunting ground.
