MICHAEL HECTOR has insisted his time at Aberdeen was far too short and compounded by the fact that he missed out on a League Cup winners’ medal.
The former Dons loanee will face up to his old team when they visit The Valley for Saturday ’s friendly with Charlton Athletic.
Hector was recalled by Reading after six months and so missed out on a winners’ medal as the Dons went on to beat Inverness and lift the 2014 League Cup.
The Addicks defender admitted: “For my liking, it was too short. I wanted to play for the whole season but it was out of my hands.
“I would have loved to play in the League Cup Final. I went to it with my brother and my dad and it was a great day out for my family.
“The club was fantastic by inviting me to come. It was tough. I went into the changing room before the game to wish all the players the best.
“It was a great day out with all the fans and I would have loved to have been on the pitch and played a part but it wasn’t to be.
“My family enjoyed it. My brother and my dad travelled together. I was happy Aberdeen won but it was disappointing to miss out on that game.”
