Shinnie hopes to lead Livi top flight return as both player and coach

ANDREW SHINNIE is hoping to help Livingston on and off the pitch as the Lions bid to make an immediate return to the Premiership.

The veteran midfielder, who signed a new deal last week, was part of the team that was relegated from the top-flight last term.

Now at the age of 35, Shinnie also has one eye on a potential career in coaching for when he eventually decides to hang up the boots.

And he is hoping to help boss Davie Martidanle on the training pitch as well as playing his part in the team.

Speaking ahead of today's opening Championship clash with Dunfermline,

Shinnie said: "There is only one real aim and that is to bounce straight back up to the Premiership.

"It was disappointing to drop out of it but the group has been refreshed.
