Woman hurt & dog killed in gun hell

TWO men whose bungled murder attempt left a dogwalking passer-by injured and her pet killed have been jailed for 14 years in total.

Reece Govan and convicted killer Bran Gallacher chased a man through a housing development in Dullatur, Cumbernauld, at about 7pm on January 23, 2020.

Govan, 27, shot their intended target, Marc McDermott, in the back with a shotgun, while 26-year old Gallacher lashed out with a machete, striking the 31-year-old on the shoulder.

Despite being wounded, Marc continued to try to escape, sprinting down a lane while his dad, clutching a hockey stick, went out to try to help his son.
