Relative says full evidence release will silence Luke Mitchell supporters

A FAMILY member of murder victim Jodi Jones has pleaded with the Crown Office to release transcripts of the 42-day trial to “shatter the lies, myths and speculation” being shared by campaigners. 

Jodi was stripped, tied up and stabbed to death in June 2003. Her throat was also slit and her mutilated body found dumped in woods near her home in Dalkeith, Midlothian.

Her boyfriend Luke Mitchell, then 15, was later convicted of her murder but following a TV documentary casting doubt on his guilt, campaigners alleged he is a miscarriage of justice victim.
