Cantwell was the Todd man out at Killie but he gave Rangers the extra edge in Euro battle

TODD CANTWELL took it twice and moved it before fizzing a stinging volley that was blocked inside the opening minute.

Less than five later, he had a trio of separate involvements in a flowing move which ended when he was decked by defender David Douline to bring the penalty breakthrough for James Tavernier.

Cantwell was left rubbing his head in pain after being given a dunt on the touchline by irritated Servette star Jeremy Guillemenot.

But it was actually the Rangers star who should have been handing out paracetamols because he gave the Swiss migraines throughout.

Cantwell had to wait a little longer than his team-mates to get his season started having been left out of the starting XI on day one of the Premiership.

But when it came to night one of the Champions League bid he was clearly intent on making up for lost time and proving his talents can't be sidelined.

Cantwell was signed for games like this. To be an individual with the quality, energy and ingenuity.
