Gallagher calls for repeat of reaguard action that frustarted Celts last time

DECLAN GALLAGHER feels Dundee United will give themselves a chance of taking something from Celtic if they can produce a repeat of their Tannadice defensive masterclass.

Jim Goodwin’s side stunned the leaders just two days before Christmas by digging out a 0-0 draw at home.

Gallagher was part of the backline but accepts United will have to be even more disciplined and bring their A game if they want to back that up with a result at Parkhead tomorrow.

The defender said: “Absolutely. Celtic lost in the derby but they have scored three goals against St Mirren on Sunday.

“So we know for a fact it’s going to be a really tough night. It’s a night that we’re going to have to prepare for.

“I thought we were brilliant out there against them the last time. Obviously we did sit in. But at the same time we had some good chances ourselves.

“We have to go there with a similar gameplan. Try to frustrate them, try to catch them on the counter. We know that we’ve got real pace in our team out wide.

“So we’ll just see how the game goes on Wednesday night.”
