CHILDREN badly injured as Israel continued its bombardment of Gaza have turned a hospital into a "death zone", according to a spokesman for Unicef.
As Israel concentrated heavy air strikes on the south of the Gaza Strip and the cities of Khan Younis and Rafah, the government media office in Gaza claimed 700 Palestinians had been killed in the past 24 hours.
James Elder, spokesman for Unicef, the United Nations Children's Fund, described conditions inside al-Nassar hospital in Khan Younis.
