A SENIOR trade union official has branded proposed rises in council tax "tinkering around the edges" and called for the tax to be scrapped.
The Record reported last week that one in four Scots could face a 22.5 per cent rise in council tax. The plans were revealed in a leaked paper from local authority body Cosla.
No final decision has yet been made on the plans and it is unclear when the consultation will take place.
