He finally ran out of road

OJ SIMPSON'S life was a tale of soaring highs and crashing lows, entwined with the intoxicating allure of celebrity and the belief that he was above the law.

From his childhood in a poor area to adoration as an American football star and Hollywood actor, he had it all before it collapsed in a sensational murder case that featured one of the most public car chases ever.

And after the crook's death at the age of 76 from cancer, there was little in the way of tributes, with many still believing he got away with the murders of his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Ronald Goldman in 1994.

Ex-Olympian Caitlyn Jenner, whose former wife Kris was a close friend of Nicole, said simply: "Good Riddance."

Kris and her late husband Robert Kardashian were also pals of Simpson.

Goldman's father, Fred, 83, declared Simpson's death was "no great loss to the world" and added: "The only thing that is truly important are the victims." Attorney Gloria Allred, who represented Nicole's family during her husband's murder trial, said: "I don't mourn for OJ Simpson. I do mourn for Nicole and her family."

Simpson died on Wednesday in Las Vegas. His family said: "On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren."

From his days as a running back with NFL side Buffalo Bills, to his infamous trial of the century for murder, he used his fame and influence to shield him from the consequences of his actions.
