Same old glory for Celts as Japanese ace causes mayhem once more
CRAIG SWAN
HERE WE KYOGO AGAIN

KYOGO FURUHASHI had endured a quietish start to the season.

But when he gets a sight of Rangers, there is nothing surer than the striker causing absolute mayhem.

The same goes for his relentless Celtic team-mates.

Brendan Rodgers had insisted it was dangerous to make assumptions... yet everyone's assumptions were right.

Yet another Old Firm success for the Parkhead manager to extend his stunning record.

Yet another derby for Japanese duo Kyogo and Daizen Maeda to strike while causing chaos.

Yet another game against Rangers in which Callum McGregor led his side from the front and capped his display with a special clincher.

Yet another defeat for Philippe Clement and the predicted doomsday scenario for the Belgian.

This was the impending nightmare for Clement. Even before a ball was kicked this term, the prospect of falling way behind their rivals in the title race with a defeat at Celtic Park, hard on the heels of a Champions League exit and £40million lost jackpot, was being foreseen.

It has now come to pass. His fifth Old Firm failure arrived in a fashion that was touted by many.

Rangers are a mess and Celtic are just way too good right now, on and off the park. This triumph capped a seismic week for the champions.

Major investment in the squad saw Arne Engels and Luke McCowan introduced from a bench with more than £30m of talent on it, also coming after a Champions League draw that offered real optimism.
