HAMISH WATSON is desperate to get to this year's World Cup after lasting less than half a game four years ago.
But the 31-year-old reckons competition for places in the back row is tougher than ever.
The Edinburgh flanker made his Scotland debut a couple of months before the 2015 tournament but was not included in Vern Cotter's final squad.
By 2019 he was a Scotland regular and set to play a major part in Japan, only to pick up a serious knee injury in the opening match against Ireland.
So he wants to make up for lost time and be included in Gregor Townsend's final squad of 33 for the France finals.
