RELATIVES of murdered schoolgirl Jodi Jones have spoken out after her killer's bid for parole was rejected.
Luke Mitchell, 35, was 16 when he was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Jodi, his girlfriend of four months.
She was found stabbed, stripped and bound near her home in Easthouses, Midlothian, in June 2003.
This week, he appeared in front of the parole board to beg for his freedom despite refusing to admit his guilt over the killing.
His shot at freedom was denied after a psychiatric report claimed he is a "sexual" risk to women.
Jodi's mum, Judy, was told she could watch the hearing via video but it is understood she decided not to attend.
A relative of Jodi's said they had been "praying" the parole board would consider the risk Mitchell poses if he was released.
And they hit out at the "fraudulent" innocence campaign that has been going since 2021 by Mitchell supporters.
