MAJOR hopeful Bob Macintyre says he'll be hooked on the Euros while aiming to make it a Tartan Army dream double in America.

The super Scot's US Open bid kicks off on Thursday at Pinehurst and he's praying for an early tee time for the second round so he can catch Scotland's epic opener against Germany.

But he'll ensure manager Iain Stoddart is close by for updates from Munich even if he is on the fairways in North Carolina.

MacIntyre is a huge football fan and will be cheering on Scotland from afar. And he'd love to give the Tartan Army another reason to roar from across the pond.

The 27-year-old said: "I'll just take what tee I'm given, but I'm sure the people walking around and whether it's Stoddy or my coaches, will keep me updated if I'm on the course while that's going on. And hopefully the boys can beat Germany."

MacIntyre will be dialled in for Pinehurst as he looks to keep up his hot streak on the back of his maiden PGA Tour win in Canada last week that secured his place at the US Open.

But he admitted the Euros will be the perfect distraction during his down time after spending last weekend's wait watching shinty.

MacIntyre said: "It's difficult, especially if you've got a late tea time like last Saturday.
