MYZIANE MAOLIDA has told Hibs he wants to head for the highest levels.

But although the attacker now looks set to take his career elsewhere, he insists David Gray can stay where he is and become permanent Easter Road boss.

Maolida, 25, enjoyed an outstanding period in Leith on loan from Hertha Berlin.

He was a rare ray of light through a disappointing season – scoring 11 goals after arriving mid-season.

Hibs supporters would love Maolida to return for 2024/25 but it’s highly unlikely – even with Bill Foley’s Black Knight Football Club now in the door.

With clubs across the continent having been impressed by his work in the Premiership, the Comoros international has a list of summer suitors. Asked if he’d accept a Hibs offer, there was a hint of thank you and goodbye.

He admitted: “I don’t know. I want to play at the highest level I can. I will see what happens in the transfer market.
