THE parents of a baby girl burst into tears in court yesterday as serial killer Lucy Letby was found guilty of attempting to murder her.
Letby, 34, has now been convicted of murdering seven babies and also seven counts of attempted murder while working as a nurse on a neonatal unit.
The jury took just three-and-a half hours of deliberation to find her guilty of trying to kill the newborn, who can only be identified as child K. Letby showed no emotion at the verdict yesterday.
The baby, who was extremely premature, died in 2016, days after Letby repeatedly dislodged her breathing tube, the court heard.
