Scots mum's plea for peace after her child is 'killed by 15-year-old' in Utah

A MUM whose son was shot dead in the US hopes his tragic killing will be a warning to other young people about a "culture of hatred".

Dundee-born Rory Swimm was gunned down outside a convenience store in Salt Lake City, Utah, on October 13 just a week after his 23rd birthday.

A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is alleged to have pulled the trigger of a handgun. Rory was shot once in the chest after he and his friends became involved in an argument with a group of youths.

Rory's Glasgow-born mum Susan, and American dad Robb told BBC Scotland his death had ripped the family apart.
