THE SNP is bidding to force members of the House of Lords to pay income tax on their parliamentary allowance.
Pete Wishart, the party's deputy Westminster leader, will table an amendment to tax peers on their £342 daily allowance.
The tax-free amount is payable to members of the House of Lords for any day they turn up in Parliament.
They are eligible for the payment on days when they are present but records show some do not vote, ask no questions and make no speeches.
