A DISGRACED surgeon who performed botched operations on hundreds of patients could be extradited back to Scotland, the Health Secretary said yesterday.
Professor Sam Eljamel was suspended from NHS Tayside in 2013 and is currently believed to be operating in Libya.
Michael Matheson said a damning report from the health-board into their former consultant neurosurgeon raised "serious issues of concern" last week and the medic should be "brought to account".
His comments came as former patients demanding a public inquiry into the scandal staged a grisly protest wearing blood-soaked gowns outside the Scottish Parliament.
