FORMER Premier League star Sol Bamba has been hailed for his strength and courage after he died of cancer aged 39.
The former Dunfermline and Hibs defender was diagnosed with nonHodgkin lymphoma in 2021.
He fought off the disease and returned to playing that same year but fell ill again and died on Saturday.
His wife, Chloe, said: "I have watched Sol fight his cancer head-on with an astounding mental and physical strength and stoicism.
