Couple tell how they couldn’t sell their home after dodgy loft work

A COUPLE lost £11,000 of their life savings to spray foam cowboys in a home insulation scam.

Fiona Barton and husband Andre, both 60, were told they could not sell their Midlothian home after paying a company almost £5000 to install spray foam insulation in their loft in 2022.

The couple agreed to the work after receiving a cold call offering a free loft survey by the rogue traders.

But when came to selling their home, a surveyor told them the spray foam insulation rendered their property unmortgageable.
