Mum of tragic hospital death girl Milly blasts government for voting down law to give rights to bereaved families

THE mum of tragic 10-year-old Milly Main has blasted the Scottish Government for voting down a new law in her memory.

Kimberly Darroch, who blames a Glasgow hospital for her daughter's death, is "very sad" that a plan to give bereaved relatives extra rights was blocked.

Louise Slorance, who has accused the same hospital over her husband Andrew's death, also reacted angrily to the snub.

Milly was in remission from leukaemia at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow when she picked up an infection and died. An independent probe eventually concluded she died after "probably" catching a water-linked infection at the QEUH.

MSPs this week passed the Government's Patient Safety Commissioner Bill but Scots Labour leader Anas Sarwar tried to beef up the plan with proposals directly related to Milly's case.
