STEVE BORTHWICK has send hatched plans to Billy Vunipola in with the cavalry this weekend to save under-fire England's troubled year.
Head coach Borthwick named his World Cup squad yesterday against the backdrop of a third successive defeat, which leaves the 2019 finalists in a hole ahead of the tournament in France.
He then revealed his intention to send out as near a full-strength team as possible for Saturday's Twickenham revenge mission against Wales.
Borthwick, who saw his side lose 20-9 in their opening warm-up to Wales, hopes that will include Vunipola's first match action since undergoing two knee surgeries after his last appearance in April.
He said: "Billy looks in great condition - as fit as I have seen him from a conditioning point of view.
