Farewell to Sinead

HORDES of fans and celebrities turned out to pay their respects to singer Sinead O'Connor.

Thousands lined the streets to cheer, clap and throw flowers as her funeral cortege passed by.

Some belted out the lyrics from her 1990 hit tune Nothing Compares 2 U, which propelled her to fame.

A private service took place earlier, before the convoy-led by a VW camper van playing music from speakers-passed.

Handwritten notes have been left on the wall of Sinead's former home on Strand Road in Bray, Co Wicklow, in the days since her death.

A neighbour was seen placing lit candles on it ahead of the funeral.
