MORGAN GIBBS-WHITE silenced the South Bank as he sent watching England boss Thomas Tuchel a timely reminder of his talent.
The playmaker had been targeted by the home support with a couple of unsavoury chants but needed just seven minutes to hit Vitor Pereira’s men where it hurts as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side moved level on points with second-placed Arsenal.
Gibbs-White quit the Black Country club for the East Midlands two seasons ago in a deal worth up to £45m, after making a promising start to his professional career.
But the split wasn’t amicable and the 24-year-old bore the brunt – and responded by creating and finishing the opener for the visitors.
He celebrated in front of upset home supporters by placing his fingers in his ears as Forest grabbed the initiative.
