EDDIE HOWE has not suddenly become a sporting alchemist - but the Newcastle boss appears to have hit upon the formula every manager craves.

His Magpies side are serving up football gold right now scoring freely at one end and shutting out the opposition at the other.

It is little wonder Howe has been nominated for December's manager of the month award, while two of his players, Alexander Isak and Jacob Murphy, are in contention for the player gong.

Incredibly, Newcastle scored more top-flight goals last month (18) than they had managed between August and November (14).

And Martin Dubravka heads to Tottenham today looking to keep a fifth successive clean sheet in the league.
