John still on trophy trail

JOHN HIGGINS insists he still has the hunger to end his silverware drought.

And the 48-year-old Scot would love nothing better than to once more lift a trophy in front of a packed house for a major tournament success.

Now ranked No.12 in the world, Higgins’ last ranking event triumph came at the Players Championship in 2021.

And the most recent of his four world titles at the Crucible came in 2011.

Since that win he has lost three world finals in Sheffield and also his last four ranking finals over the past three years.

Higgins said: “I’m still hungry, I really am. I’m playing well. I’ve just not been getting over the line lately, which you need to do in this sport.
