THE nation rallied around Princess Kate last night after she bravely revealed she is battling cancer.
The Princess of Wales, 42, said her diagnosis came as a “huge shock” in her broadcast to a stunned country at 6pm.
She praised husband Prince William, 41, for being a rock – just like Queen Camilla is to King Charles, inset, as he too battles cancer.
But Kate said it had taken “time to explain everything” to their children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five, and to “reassure them that I am going to be OK”.
Details of the cancer were not disclosed, but she said she was “getting stronger every day”. She explained she had major abdominal surgery in January which was “successful”.
The operation, which took place at The London Clinic, showed no sign of cancer, but she said post-op tests revealed “cancer had been present”. She began a course of preventative chemotherapy in February.
