IT'S MEE TIME

LIKE a great sage, Ben Mee returned to Premier League action and began preaching on the need to use time wisely.

While other seasoned pros have kicked up a fuss about the new injury-time rules, the Brentford defender, 33, simply sees it as an opportunity.

An easy thing to say after Bryan Mbeumo's 93rd-minute equaliser kept alive the Bees' unbeaten start to the season.

But Mee, who sat out the first three matches of the season through injury, understands the benefit to be gained by adapting quickly to the arrival of 100-minute games.

He said: "It is just having a greater expectation that when it gets to 90 minutes you are still going to have to play another 10 minutes.

"You can be a goal down but there is loads of time to score a goal and we want to be the team that uses it well. That we can get that goal, put the pressure on and be as fit as we can, have the manager make subs.
