RIP 'STUPID BOY"

DAD’S Army legend Ian Lavender was hailed a comedy great after his death at 77. 

The actor famed for playing Private Frank Pike was the last surviving cast member from the sitcom when he passed away on Friday.

A statement from the Dad’s Army Radio Show social media account read: “His wonderful performance as Private Frank Pike will live on for decades to come.

“He leaves behind a legacy of laughter enjoyed by millions.”

A raft of comedy stars rushed to pay their respects to Ian.

’Allo ’Allo’s Vicki Michelle said: “So sad to hear of the passing of Ian Lavender. A wonderful actor and gorgeous man.”
