ERIK TEN HAG is convinced Manchester United are moving forward under him - despite their worst start to a season for 34 years.
United have lost four of their first seven Premier League games and were defeated in their opening Champions League group fixture away at Bayern Munich.
Despite that poor start, Ten Hag believes United are making progress, while defender Raphael Varane claimed there is enough quality in their squad to win the Champions League.
After Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, a second straight home defeat in the league after a 3-1 loss to Brighton, the notion of United conquering Europe this season is fanciful.
In mitigation, Ten Hag is operating against the backdrop of a crippling injury list, with several key players out including Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Sergio Reguilon.
