LEWIS DUNK is desperate to put five years of England exile behind him – and be at Euro 2024 in Germany.
The 31-year-old Brighton captain has done it the hard way in football – rising up from League One with his hometown club.
Dunk led the Seagulls to sixth in the Premier League last season – their highest-ever finish – which earned Roberto De Zerbi’s team a Europa League spot this term.
But the only blot on his CV has been the lack of international recognition from Gareth Southgate.
Following a single cap in 2018, in a 3-0 win against the USA at Wembley, he was not picked for another Three Lions squad until earlier this year, when he had to withdraw through injury.
