
IT'S OK to call someone a numpty, an employment judge has ruled in a case involving a former Met cop.
The word was first used in 1733, as a "term of mocking endearment" and is said to be derived from 'numps a 16th-Century term for someone who is as silly or stupid, just like world famous numpty, Homer Simpson.
