ChatGPT is an AI system powered by endless data with the ability to understand sentences in context and to reproduce speech patterns - plus it has encyclopaedic knowledge.
It has applications in coding, content creation, medicine, law, and accounting, to name just a few.
Eight weeks after ChatGPT's launch, it received a $10 billion investment from Microsoft, kicking off an AI arms race (with both Alphabet and Meta in the fray). ChatGPT, already used by five million people daily, is simultaneously being described as the changer of just about everything and as the destroyer of worlds. More precisely, ours. Just like the early days of the internet.
AI isn't a new concept, it has been around for about 70 years. But ChatGPT is different because we can all use it. I'm excited about the opportunities - it will make many businesses and people "better" at whatever it is they do.
