Report any antisemitism you hear, Labour members told as hate speech row deepens

LABOUR members who attended a meeting where two parliamentary candidates abused Israel were today warned to come forward as an antisemitism storm deepened around the party.

Shadow defence secretary John Healey issued the warning as calls grew from Labour Jewish members for others to be suspended if they failed to intervene at the meeting, held after Israel’s war in Gaza was triggered by Hamas’s deadly rampage on October 7. Munsif Dad, who leads the Labour group on Hyndburn council in Lancashire, was at the meeting and has been spoken to by party officials, Sky News reported, after the party withdrew support for its Commons candidates in Hyndburn and Rochdale.
