JOHN STONES was today part of the England squad to travel to Germany for the European Championship, despite an injury scare against Iceland on Friday.
Stones joined the other 25 members of the squad on the flight from Birmingham to Leipzig this afternoon, having been forced off at half-time at Wembley with a knock.
The centre-half, who is expected to be key to England's chances in Germany, turned his ankle in the first minute of the 1-0 friendly defeat but played until the interval and is understood to be unscathed.
Jude Bellingham was yesterday the final player to join up with the squad after an extended break to recover from competing in the Champions League Final with Real Madrid, while Jarell Quansah, who had remained on standby and was on the bench against Iceland, has been released.
