The 35-year-old aspiring lawyer, right, was attacked as she walked home from a night out in Ilford, east London, in the early hours of Sunday morning. Jordan McSweeney, 29, of no fixed address, was today charged with her murder and with attempted rape and robbery, and was set to appear in custody at Thames magistrates' court.
In an emotional tribute this morning, Ms Aleena's family described the law graduate as "everybody's friend. She was everybody's daughter, everybody's niece, everybody's sister, everybody's cousin. She was pure of heart."
They said they would miss her "glorious" laughter and described how she had been working for the Crown Prosecution Service in pursuit of her life-long dream of becoming a lawyer.
They also revealed how she had been planning to start her own family and had been the carer for her mother and grandmother and their "rock".
