Indian Institute of Management Bangalore is embroiled in a caste discrimination row, with a professor alleging denial of equal opportunity. Prof Rishikesha T Krishnan, director of IIM Bangalore, however, says these allegations are false. "Our legal team is fighting the case. The matter came up for hearing on 20.12.2024 in the High Court of Karnataka. The hon'ble court, after hearing the parties, stated it was of the prima facie view that the Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement may not have the jurisdiction to enquire into the matter and passed an order of stay on the respondents from taking any further coercive steps against the petitioners," he says. In an interview with FE's Vikram Chaudhary, he refrains from talking about this case, but talks about the achievements of the institute instead. Excerpts:
