PM Surya Ghar subsidy disbursal at 58% till Oct
Financial Express Chandigarh|December 30, 2024
Even as the government is focusing ramping up installations under the newly launched PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, delays in subsidy disbursal have raised concerns.
Arunima Bharadwaj

Of the two million applications received by October 2024, only 480,000 installations have been completed, according to a report by the Lok Sabha's Standing Committee.

As per the data, subsidy has been disbursed to only 280,000 households, which is 58.3% of the total installations.

"In between, there was a rainy season, when the momentum became a little less. But the average capacity is still around 3,000-3,500, which we can do on a daily basis," ministry of new and renewable energy informed the Committee. Despite the delays, the government aims to reach 1.2 million installations by the end of this fiscal year.
