DEHRADUN: As Uttarakhand anticipates a large influx of tourists to its popular hill stations for the New Year celebrations, the state police has reinforced security and traffic management measures to ensure safety, prevent traffic congestions, and avoid overcrowding.
The Uttarakhand government has already allowed all hotels and restaurants in the state to remain open for 24 hours for the New Year celebrations.
In Dehradun, heavy tourist footfall is expected to visit popular hill stations of Mussoorie and Chakrata. To ensure law and order and smooth traffic, police will crack down on hooligans and those driving under the influence of alcohol, and have also prepared a traffic plan. Adequate police personnel have been deployed at major spots, police said.
