NEW DELHI: Delhi lieutenant governor VK Saxena has urged chief minister Atishi to convene a special session of the legislative assembly on December 19 or 20 to table 14 long-pending Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports, officials from the LG secretariat said on Monday.
The audit reports, covering Delhi's liquor policy, vehicular pollution, public health, and the performance of government departments from 2017-18 to 2020-21, have not been tabled despite repeated requests. In his December 17 letter, Saxena criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for the "deliberate lapse" in tabling the reports. He called it "sad" that legislators had to approach the court for the enforcement of their constitutional rights, accusing the government of choosing "opacity in disclosure."
The AAP did not respond to the LG's letter.
