DEHRADUN: Controversial Hindu seer Yati Narsinghanand made inflammatory and hate speeches targeting religious minorities at an event in Haridwar, triggering furore and prompting the police to say it will look into the row.

Narsinghanand, who has multiple first information reports against him for inflammatory speeches, spoke against Muslims and even government officials at a small event inside an akhada, days after authorities denied permission for a three-day Dharam Sansad or religious congregation between December 19 and 21 in Haridwar.

The small event was held on Friday inside the Juna Akhada premises in Haridwar, said officials. Videos of the 60-year-old seer went viral on social soon afterwards.
