GARDAI have set up a national operation to hunt down "predators" in the Defence Forces after uncovering 26 allegations of sexual assault.
Garda Commissioner Drew Harris revealed the force has established new special ops nationwide.
They are aware of allegations dating as far back as the 1960s.
Mr Harris said: "Historically within our records there are 26 complaints. We would expect to receive more complaints and in fact I'd hope people feel encouraged to come forward and make complaints.
