LUIS Rubiales’ mum has locked herself in a church and gone on hunger strike over the “inhumane witchhunt” against her football chief son.
It comes as Spanish prosecutors opened an initial probe into whether Rubiales’ kiss with Jenni Hermoso after the Women’s World Cup final victory amounts to sexual assault.
The football federation chief ’s mother, retired hairdresser Angeles Behar entered the church yesterday morning with a sister to begin the protest.
It was not clear whether the police would be called to resolve the situation.
The Divina Pastora church is in the Andalusia coastal resort of Motril, where suspended Rubiales grew up.
