GALWAY boss Padraic Joyce insists there is no fear of underestimating Westmeath after an indifferent display against 14-man Tyrone.

While the Tribe always had the edge, they never put the Red Hands away and Joyce admitted they will be on their guard for the visit to their neighbours in Mullingar.

He said: "We will have a look at Westmeath, they play Armagh next week. We are away to Westmeath in two weeks' time, we won't take them for granted. It is great to get a winning start here.

"It is important to try to top your group. If you don't, you will probably end up playing three weeks in a row at the back end of June. We will analyse this before Tuesday, then we will get focused on Westmeath from Wednesday onwards."

Galway led by 0-7 to 0-4 at the break, having played with the wind and the rain.
