McGregor convinced Rodgers has got the look of someone determined to deliver success

IT'S said that the eyes don't lie and Callum McGregor only had to take one look at Brendan Rodgers to be convinced he's on a mission to surpass previous achievements at Celtic.

The Hoops skipper believes the fire burns brighter than ever within an Irishman who delivered two Trebles, including an Invincibles season first time around.

The 30-year-old also insists that Rodgers is also being fuelled by a need for redemption after being sacked at Leicester City on the back of his controversial exit from Parkhead four and half years ago.

Repeating those feats will be a hard act to follow but McGregor is adamant a chat with his gaffer a few months ago left no doubt the appetite to continue as a serial winner remains intense.

He said: "I can detect that, yes. Even when I spoke to him early doors, I could see it in his eyes and you can hear it in his voice.
