MAN UTD v WOLVES

ERIK TEN HAG says his first 12 months in the Old Trafford hot-seat have laid foundations for lasting success.

And the Manchester United boss has challenged his squad to now take the next step.

Ten Hag has come a long way since opening his account last term with a home defeat to Brighton and a shock loss on the road at Brentford.

But as he prepares to welcome Wolves tonight, he maintained his squad must build on a first season which delivered the Carabao Cup and a top-four finish.

Asked to reflect on a rollercoaster first year in charge, Ten Hag admitted the club have already made bigger strides than he expected.
