THE brother of murdered Detective Garda Colm Horkan died suddenly at his home last week.
Aidan Horkan, who was in his 50s, passed away at his home in Charlestown, Co Mayo, on Friday.
A funeral notice said he will be "sadly missed and remembered with love by his heartbroken family".
Mr Horkan worked in various roles in Charlestown for years after returning from the US.
Earlier this year, along with his siblings and father Marty, he attended the ceremonial turning of the sod for what will be officially known as the Colm Horkan Memorial Pitch and Walkway at the town's Sarsfields GAA pitch.
