A FIRST TIME homeowner has ‘gone wild’ decorating her new home with unique features, bright colours and more than 140 framed pictures which she’s nicknamed her ‘vibrant maximalist wonderland’.
Verity Jones, 47, who lives in Greater Manchester, decided on the quirky renovation of her £95k two-bedroom house, which dates back to 1891, after renting her previous home for four years and being bored with magnolia walls.
Verity says she was given free rein to design the house how she wanted by husband Mike, 48. Despite having no interior design training, she painted her living room in dark Breton blue, before creating her own picture gallery with 12 prints and pictures.
This idea quickly evolved and Verity, who works in police support, now has 142 picture frames hanging in her end-terrace abode. Selftaught Verity has described her style as “eclectic maximalism” but claims she’s not a perfectionist.
“Interiors have always been my passion, but when I was renting, I didn’t feel like I could express myself,” Verity explained. “When my husband and I were finally able to buy, he let me do whatever I wanted, and it was so fun to let my imagination run wild.”
