TIRED from a fun-filled week of partying in Magaluf, Louise Mckernan and her friends felt ready to go home.
The group packed up their belongings and headed for Palma de Mallorca Airport on Sunday, July 16.
All four scanned their boarding passes at security without any issues and waited patiently at their gate for the flight to Manchester.
But when they were called up to board their plane, one member of the group couldn’t scan their boarding pass.
The others then attempted to scan their Ryanair passes but were told they were all invalid.
Confused Louise, 19, says she asked a Ryanair staff member for help and claims she was told to stand to the side of the queue and wait.
As they waited, staff allegedly boarded everyone onto the flight and closed the gate, meaning the group were no longer allowed onto the plane.
Louise says she asked a staff member for help again and was told the group would not be boarding as they had checked themselves out of their flight.
Louise, from Westhougton, Bolton, says this was not possible.
She now believes the flight was overbooked and they didn’t get on because they were near the back of the queue. However, approached by the M.E.N. with Louise’s claims, the budget airline insists the group ‘unchecked themselves’ from the flight.
